The Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association summer meeting will be hosted by Berkey’s Nursery in Spartansburg, about 30 miles south of Erie, PA. Berkey’s Nursery is a 900-acre, 3 rd generation Christmas tree farm and nursery. Berkey’s produces 2.5 million transplants, 22,000 cut trees, 5,000 wreaths, and 60 tons for bough/foliage material each year.
We take pride in our 60 years of genetic research in multiple species. We currently have orchards in 8 different species including Balsam Fir, Canaan Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Concolor Fir, Doulgas Fir, Fraser Fir, Turkish Fir, and Serbian Spruce.
All the plants grown here are started from seed and most of the plants are the offspring of the improved seed orchards on the farm.
Improved genetics along with our use of custom designed equipment, innovative technology, and the drive to continually improve our growing practices allows us to consistently produce top quality transplants and Christmas trees.
